Serving up authenticity with a side of veganism.
Welcome to my blog ~ “Authentically Vegan”. This is a space where I share my journey with vegan food and ethical living. I strive to find purpose and beauty in my daily life. I am a recent college graduate with many hobbies and interests, most of them involving food! I am a self-taught baker and photographer. On most weekends, you can find me attempting ridiculously hard recipes so I can develop techniques to eventually teach to you. I love a good farmers market. I might have a coffee addiction. I will gladly spend hours creating a babka (and then taking pictures of it afterward).
My promise to you: always vegan and sometimes fancy recipes. You might have noticed that I have an abundance of comfort food recipes. I believe that the best way to spread the vegan message is through delicious and approachable vegan recipes. I love hearing people say, “I can’t believe this is vegan!”. I pride myself on always remaining authentic with my readers. I do not believe in restriction, so I avoid posting about “low-fat” or “keto” because I want food to be enjoyable. Yes, meat-free and dairy-free food can and should be enjoyable!
I started this blog in 2016/2017 as a hobby (a rather inconsistent hobby) and much to my surprise, this community has grown. If you are not looking for more recipes, I also love to share about photography, intentional living, and gardening. Please take a look around and if you like it here, feel free to subscribe! I should disclose to you that I don’t like brownies and I don’t put walnuts in banana bread! I understand that might be a deal breaker :).
What camera do you use?
What blogging platform do you use?
I use wordpress.com (referral link). I use their business plan and highly recommend it for those wanting to take their blog to the next level. They have great customer service and with the business plan, I have all the features of a self-hosted website without worrying about troubleshooting. My blog’s theme is called “Sprout & Spoon” and it’s from Solo Pine. I’m not sponsored by Solo Pine or WordPress, I just enjoy these services.
Why did you go vegan?
I went vegan because I made the ethical connection. Eating and using animal products is simply not worth it. Treating animals as products creates violence, destroys our planet, and is sometimes detrimental to our health.
How long have you been vegan?
I have been eating plant-based since January 2017. I have followed a vegan lifestyle since April/May 2017. I consider myself an ethical vegan.
Do you write sponsored posts?
Yes, I am open to sponsorships. I always disclose advertisements, sponsorships, and collaborations. If you are interested in working with me, head over to my contact page! I try to keep the affiliate links to a minimum. I receive a small commission if you decide to buy products through my links. This helps me afford the cost of maintaining this blog, thank you for supporting my content! To read more about affiliate links, read my disclaimer & content policy.
What do you do? Where are you from?
I am in my twenties! I graduated from college in 2019 and have a degree in social work. I live in Kansas and work for a mental health center. I am available for freelance photography work as well, check out my portfolio here.
