    I Want to be Great

We all want to, right? We all want greatness and we all want to be successful. But what happens when you get too caught up in it? Perfectionism in combination with impatience can be debilitating at times. I am usually driven and this is partly because I strive for flawlessness. Not flawlessness in a beauty sense, but I hate mistakes and they easily upset me. On the other hand, focusing on goals and aspirations typically gives me more energy. I enjoy hard work and achieving goals I set. The pros, for the most part, outweigh the cons. What happens when they don’t? At times, it can seem like too much.…

    Don’t Call Me “Honey”

I hate being called “honey”, if you couldn’t tell from the title of this post. I could tackle this issue from a feminist perspective, but today I am actually going to discuss why you shouldn’t use honey as a product and this relates to the language we use. Honey is bee excrement, so why call someone that? Yes it is sweet, but it comes with a steep price. Most honey sold in supermarkets is so processed that it doesn’t even have nutritional benefits (barely any pollen). This is why some people choose to consume raw honey. While this may be more nutritious, it still hurts the bee populations. In all…

    Goodwill Finds | Part 3

I might be addicted to thrifting. I guess it’s better than buying into mass consumerism. I recently moved and instead of buying expensive and uninteresting pieces, I have been going to thrift stores to find things for my place. While I try to avoid buying too many possessions, I like to buy secondhand because it is more environmentally conscious. If you are a blogger or instagrammer then you can also look for props or supplies at thrift stores. If you are on a budget or trying to reduce your environmental impact, you might consider buying more things secondhand. In this “part 3”, I got dishes, a tray, and storage containers…

    Minimal Hair Care Routine

It’s been a long while since I have talked about anything beauty related. My beauty routines have minimized because I barely use products anymore. Partly because of my intentional lifestyle and partly because I am really low maintenance (AKA lazy). Surprisingly, I have received compliments on my hair lately. I have taken a minimal approach recently when it comes to my hair and I just wanted to share an updated hair care routine/products. Basically the routine part is just shampooing every few days. Last year, I was having a lot of scalp irritation and hair breakage. When this happened, I had to cut back on most products. That’s why I…

    Summer Goals

My semester is officially over and I am looking forward to my summer break. On the rare occasion that I have free time, I like to write down my intentions or goals at that moment. Here is what I wrote down for my “summer goals”: Have fun! This is an obvious one, but I often need to remind myself to not take things so seriously. Take day trips. I don’t have any trips planned, but I would still like to go on smaller trips or spontaneous road trips. Post once a day on my vegan Instagram account. I typically post every two days, but it’s becoming more serious now so I am…

    The End // APRIL

“Nothing lasts forever. Forever is a lie. All we have is what’s between hello and goodbye.” ~ U k n o w n. This quote is how my April went. It was fleeting, but oh so great! Every time a new month starts, I like to review the previous month. If you read my blog regularly, then you know I post all my photos from each month. Here we go again. Enjoy my photos from the month of April. NATURE…. It is just now starting to look like spring where I live. As you can probably tell, most things were still “dead”. It was a harsh winter and it’s pretty…

    AUTOPILOT

When you just can’t deal… I gave up my control. I’ve let life just happen. I’ve sat back and allowed co-pilots to steer me. This sounds great, right? Just sitting back and relaxing. Let me tell you, it hasn’t been great. For the past few weeks, I have done the minimum. I go to school, I go to work, I sleep, I eat, and I repeat this process every day. I’m doing the minimum, but I still feel like there’s not enough time in the day. There was a time when I wanted to do everything. And I basically did ‘do everything’. I over programmed myself. I became so involved…

    22 Things in 22 Years

I am officially 22 years young! Yes, I am that annoying person that announces their birthday. It might be the day after my birthday when I post this. Anyway, I have seen a lot of posts about “things I have learned in…” insert number of years.  Adulting is one giant teachable moment. Most of my learning experiences have come from the past few years. Without further ado, here are 22 things I’ve learned in 22 years. It’s not the end of the world. It might seem like a big deal, but it’s probably not. Life goes on and you will overcome it. Follow your passions. Life is too short and you shouldn’t…

Just Another Post About Zero Waste

Millennials are obsessed with going zero waste. It’s definitely not a bad thing. It’s actually a great thing. I’ve noticed that a zero waste lifestyle has become a source of competition though. If you’ve been following my blog, then you know I am passionate about the environment and veganism. But I also strive for balance.  I don’t want a lifestyle to turn into an obsession. You don’t have to be over-the-top with zero waste (unless you want to). This is why I am going to share some zero waste/sustainability tips that won’t stress you out. Take Re-usable Bags to the Grocery Store…This is probably the easiest thing you can do.…

    Update // Goals

Like most people, I set intentions for 2018 following the New Year. I have had some comments asking me to do an update, so here you go! If you are a new reader or haven’t seen my goals post ~ HERE IT IS. I didn’t set time restrictions for my goals because I thought that it would be too stressful. However, I should have put a loose time frame so that I would stay somewhat motivated. Anyway, the first goal I had-was to stop comparing myself to others. I haven’t completely mastered this, but I have improved greatly. Something that has helped me is to delete certain accounts on social…
