    Ethereal // iPhone Photography

ETHEREAL ~ of or relating to the regions beyond earth. Celestial, heavenly, unworldly, and spiritual. I’ve been really inspired by this concept and it has manifested in my photography. I mostly share the photos I have taken with my camera, but I like how some of my recent iPhone photos turned out and they (in my mind) fit the ethereal aesthetic. A little bit ago, I wrote a post about taking quality photos with a smart phone. Well…I somehow accidentally deleted that and it’s not even in my trash folder. So think of this as round 2. Please enjoy my photos and tips! The best camera you can have is…

    The Best So Far…

“It won’t get much better than this”. It’s great to those moments that stop you in your tracks. You fall silent because you don’t want to ruin perfection. You start to realize that life is full of growth and change, hardships and good days, and everything in between. “We all tend to see our bodies as ‘frozen sculptures’ – A sold, fixed, material object – when in reality our bodies are more like rivers, constantly changing, flowing patterns of intelligence.” ~ Dr. Neal Houston. This doesn’t necessarily mean our physical bodies. We are not stagnant in life even when we feel stuck. I guess what I mean by all of…

    FOREST

So…I was going to write a poem about forests because I was really inspired by the photos I took. But I am no poet and I wouldn’t do “the forest” justice. I guess you should just use your imagination as you enjoy these photos.     I shot these photos in the woods where I used to run cross country. If you are curious, it’s in Missouri. Being back there brought back so many positive memories. I truly felt connected to nature in these moments. It had just rained the night before so everything was lush. Most of these photos are pretty basic looking, but they hold more sentimental value…

    March Captures

“It was one of those March days when he sun shines hot and the wind blown cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” ~ Great Expectations. March was fine, but now it is April AKA my birth month! This is part 2 of my March Captures. Look at Part 1 Here. I’m just going to jump right in. Here are my photos from the month of March. You might notice that there isn’t very much color, that is because nothing has bloomed yet where I live. Sorry if you like vibrancy. I hope you enjoy these photos. Tell me about your March in the…

    February Captures

“In winter, you feel the bone structure of the landscape.” ~ Andrew Wyeth. I’m back again with another monthly round up of my pictures. I don’t have as many nature photos because February was brutally cold. All of these were taken in Kansas, in case you were wondering. NATURE… I really focused on detail in the month of February. I wanted to capture small moments that sparked something in me. My other love. FOOD… You might have seen some of these pictures in my previous post. I clearly was obsessed with breakfast food in February. I hope you all enjoyed the photos! Thanks for visiting my blog. February wasn’t the…

    January Captures

I say this at the end of every month, but I can’t believe it! This month is already over. Time flies when you are having fun. I did this post last month and people seemed to enjoy it, so here are all of the pictures I took in January. NATURE… “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson FOOD… “Food is our common ground, a universal experience.” ~ James Beard Let me know if you want any of these recipes. RANDOM… “So much of life, it seems to me, is determined by pure randomness.” ~ Sydney Poitier I hope you enjoyed these photos. Thanks for reading!…

    December Captures

December is an odd month. Everyone prepares for the holidays and then there’s always an awkward few days between Christmas and the new year. My December started out with finals and then I went to my parent’s house for a few weeks. I went back and forth for Christmas parties. I felt very busy, but the month went by quickly. If you have been keeping up with my blog, then you know that I am passionate about veganism and I am a foodie. But I am also interested in nature photography. To celebrate the end of December, I thought I would share photos I have taken in December. All of…

    BLOCK

Sometimes I am just tired. I can’t post new and “deep” content all of the time. I like posting meaningful personal essays, but I have been drained and uninspired lately. All of my pictures are turning out the same and I sound like a broken record. I can’t produce what is going on in my head. You might have noticed that lately I have been posting recipes and other “fluff” content. There is nothing wrong with these posts, but it is all I can do at the moment. While I’ll still be posting, I am going to take more breaks. I have so much planned for the next few weeks.…
